Extension with Render

Take your 'wet trades' down to a two-day completion time

Do you build small extensions and conservatories?  Then you'll probably be very interested to learn that you could have the internal plastering, floor screed and external rendering completed in literally only two days.  And in some cases, even just one day!  And that's COMPLETELY FINISHED.

Still don't believe us?  Okay, let's break it down...

At DuraRend, we have this down to a 'fine art'. Over the years we have adapted a very exact procedure in conjuction with modern and advanced material use and applications, allowing for maximum productivity and time efficiency. We spray both internal and external walls and pump the floor screed all usually within a day.  The order in which we carry out each process will vary according to size of the internal and external areas, any little 'niggly-bits' which will sometimes exist where the extension is tied-in to existing, logistics, the exact weather conditions on the day, and the exact products or material finishes which are specified on the project.

Internal Walls

All internal blockwork walls, dwarf walls and the existing wall with the 'knock-through' are machine applied.  On most, average size extensions/conservatories we have all internal areas sprayed on and ruled, ready for finishing, in anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour.

External Walls

While the internal walls are 'picking up', we then spray on the external render to the exterior walls.  We will generally use a 'through-coloured' monocouche render, which can either have a fine textured finish or a rubbed-up smooth finish.  Other products and material finishes are available depending on specifications or for special finishes where near-impossible exact matches to existing need to be found. But, generally, the same still applies - we aim to carry out internal and external finishes on the same day.

Floor Screed

The anhydrate floor screed which we lay has an 8 times higher thermal property of conductivity than a conventional 50mm site mix floor screed. This means (if underfloor heating is used), the floor will heat up 8 times faster than a conventional screed (more heat and less energy). The floor will be pumped at full depth and level to millimeter precision within approx 30 minutes.  So, as soon as the internal walls have been troweled-up flat and smooth, we move straight in to get the floor down. A special vapour barrier is laid directly over the insulation. This rides up the walls slightly and also protects the plaster (which has now gone well beyond setting and is firm and hard).  Foam strips are placed all around the floor perimeter to allow for expansion and contraction.  The floor is pumped in using lazer datums across the entire surface. We dapple the floor and give you a uniform, flat and even finish which is almost like a sheet of glass.  How perfectly flat and level are our floors?  Well, if the Tilers who go in after us are a good indication as to quality, then whey they say "Perfect" we know that they mean exactly that!  Because they are.

Further advantages are in the fact that the floor can receive traffic the following day (24 hours usually, depending on ambient temperature which naturally affects setting times).  Providing that a primer is applied, tiling can even be done straight away (within 24 hours of the floor going down).
